The World Health Organization collaborated with Facebook to disprove any misleading, possibly dangerous and unsupported information regarding the Corona Virus. Together they made an AR Lens to provide social media users with verified information. This includes several tips for limiting the risk of exposure and spread of the virus.
The AR lens can be used on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. When activating the AR lens a message will pop-up at the bottom of your screen. Along with symbols, text and stickers, the user is informed about how to reduce the risk of infection. People started sharing the official Lens on social media and found that Facebook and the WHO did an awesome job of visualizing factual information.
A great use case for where AR is used for the greater good and reaches a large audience via social media. The case got mentioned on many outlets like Adweek & Techcrunch.
