Wagner Big City Pizza and Nestlé have launched new AR games and face filters. They are able to be activated by scanning a QR code on the pizza boxes. The Instagram or Facebook app also allows users to play the games without a QR code and to share their scores on Insta or Facebook Stories.
Thrive and Nestlé have launched a different game variant for each Big City Pizza that allows the player to travel to different cities. The numerous variants are based on the typical dishes of world cities like the Philly cheesesteak in Philadelphia. The campaign has been developed by Thrive in collaboration with Talpa Network.
Future companies may use AR games as a way to connect to customers if campaigns like these turn out to be successful. Wagner has accumulated over 3000 likes and more than 1500 comments on their latest posts on Instagram about the augmented reality games.
