It’s officially the largest augmented reality mural, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. TAEO and other third parties teamed up to stimulate the economy in the Downtown area nearby the Main Park Plaza following the less restrictive pandemic rules.
On-site, users can use their mobile device to scan and access a 3D interactive experience via a QR code, rather than a downloadable application. After activating the QR code, the artwork comes to life with augmented reality, including animations and audio content. The interactive 15,000 feet mural includes: Sculptural design elements, foliage and fauna, art deco and symbols, and an angel with two children.
Multiple news stations such as news9 and newson6 reported this event. Augmented reality investments are a viable option to revitalize local areas, as seen in Downtown’s continued evolution to economically develop and ultimately attract potential customers/stakeholders and tourists.
