SAPF (San Antonio Parks Foundation) and Geomedia inc cooperated to let users experience the Japanese Tea Garden in augmented reality, without disturbing peace with physical signage.
The software made by Geomedia Inc includes a visual history of the garden, a map, and many augmented reality sites to educate tourists and locals. The app’s augmented reality features allow users to capture photos with a dragon and interact with Koi fish.
The Japanese Tea Garden AR app is now available for download. Interest towards augmented reality keeps growing, introducing custom location based AR content. Mobile augmented reality usage is projected to grow to more than 1 billion users by 2022.
