The company Safeway, specialized in the management and engineering of cargo handling, was looking for a fast and efficient solution to train new employees. Training was only possible on the machine itself, making training impractical and expensive, VR was the right solution for them.
Safeway uses a system to transport personnel and goods from the drilling platform to the ship. VR Owl has simulated these exercises for them, such as telescoping, which is the transport of people and goods. The virtual reality training works with a laptop and 2 joysticks, which makes the setup mobile and affordable.
The result is less travel costs and more efficient use of resources. Safeway plans to train more than 50 new employees and refresher existing ones. The VR simulation means less use of people and materials, which means lower costs and less impact on the environment.
