Video Game Store GameStop has partnered with developer Niantic to transform its stores into virtual destinations in the “Pokémon Go” mobile app.
Over the next four months, 500 GameStop stores will become part of the location-based augmented reality (AR) game. The locations appear in the game as “PokeStops” or “Gyms”. When you go to these in game locations you have the chance to win special in game prizes. You can win these prizes by entering the GameStop’s, this keeps track of “Pokémon go” and so you can receive the prizes.
GameStop hopes to get more gamers to the stores and also sell more Pokémon merchandise.
