The beer brand Corona teamed up with Groove Jones to create a WebAR Activation created in addition to the physical “Find Your Game Day Beach” campaign. This campaign centers around a truck with a typical summer setting including a BBQ and beach chairs.
Passers-by activate the physical installation with a WebAR campaign that mimics the iconic beach vibe that consumers have when drinking Corona. The WebAR experience lets you open a cool box that is filled with Coronas and after which you can participate in a lottery.
The campaign broke, according to Groove Jones, the record of the number of users for a WebAR campaign. The activation got attention on Groove Jones and AR VR Journey.
