8th Wall collaborated with Monkeypaw productions and MGM to create a web-based augmented reality experience to promote the upcoming film called ‘Candyman’.
The app interestingly enough uses voice activation to start the AR tool. The user’s image is blended with more imagery as the number of times the name is pronounced grows. This instills the idea that candyman is actually being summoned. The final trailer can be viewed once the end scare has been reached.
After the trailer and the experience, the tool redirects users to buy tickets for the new movie online, which includes a map to view which theatre shows the film in your area. Other brands may turn towards voice activated AR experiences if this campaign deems successful.
