Terberg Installatietechniek – Engineering Visualiser
Industry: Installation Technology
Technology: Virtual Reality
Terberg Installatietechniek is a total installer from the Netherlands. For more than seventy years they have been helping people design reliable installations, installing, maintaining and providing good service. Terberg Installatietechniek was looking for a way to position its services in an innovative and impressive way. The VR experience is intended for promotion for clients and other stakeholders. The experience also had to be new in order to bring it to the attention of potential employees and students at events.
A virtual reality experience has been created that makes it possible to walk and navigate in three different spaces. These are an office space, an apartment and a technical backroom. Every room has a pushable red button in the middle. By pressing this button, the normally invisible Terberg installations appear and can be viewed from all angles.
VR Owl has started converting the 3d model to polygons. This model was too heavy for the Oculus Quest to handle so it still had to be converted to be usable. After that, the data layers provided by Terberg were added, bringing the total picture to life. This also includes the task of making everything visually attractive by adding the correct textures. As a final step, everything is incorporated in Unity to make it interactive.
Wonderswoods is a new construction project in Utrecht where the forest returns to the city. 2 towers, each with its own design but the same idea: finding a balance between nature and the city.
The VR experience makes it possible to visualize the normally hidden installations of Terberg in an impressive way. This form of visualization is extremely suitable for showing future projects to interested parties.
