Question
For the launch of the new Adidas shoe Deerupt, Adidas is launching an immersive campaign. In addition to the interactive website, which includes an AR experience, Adidas wanted to do something with virtual reality together with their partner Foot Locker. This is to use the possibilities of immersive media as widely as possible.
Solution
An online campaign was chosen in which consumers could win a branded Cardboard with a link to the VR experience. The desire of Adidas and Foot Locker to keep participation so accessible that caused a mobile application to drop out quickly. Together with JamJam, we developed a WebVR campaign that makes virtual reality accessible with almost any mobile device.
Several posts have been shared on the Foot Locker Facebook page to promote the contest. Participants had to crack a code on the promotion website. The first participants won a Google Cardboard, with which the 360 experience could be experienced at home.
Result
WebVR is a solution that makes it possible to experience virtual reality in any browser. The threshold to first download an application is hereby removed. The browser recognizes what device it is and then ensures the optimal setting. The viewer simply has to enter the link to the website and the experience starts automatically.
