Malaysia got its first augmented reality concert thanks to Pepsi. Young Malaysian talents such as a singer, dancer and freestyle footballer performed at the concert.
By scanning a Pepsi bottle via a smartphone or tablet you got access to the concert. You could either choose between watching the concert in full screen, or watching the concert on a projected Pepsi bottle. You could spin the bottle during the concert to see different performances. The concert was made with the technology of 8th wall .
The Pepsi Malaysia Instagram account is all about the country’s first augmented reality concert. The event also received attention from the Malaysian version of The Sun Daily and the performing artists are promoting the event to their 75,000 followers through TikTok.
