JBLM Soldiers | VR Training
Soldiers at JBLM are using virtual reality training to conduct a SHARP class. The VR simulation allows a user to intervene in sexual harassment and sexual assault scenarios and learn to protect one another.
The SHARP VR training is loaded onto a Meta Quest 2 and produces various scenarios, allowing the soldiers to respond to various inappropriate behaviors in the workplace, such as unwelcome sexual advances, sexual favors, and repeated comments.
Pfc. Jasmine Garcia, a fire control specialist said that VR training can help her to build the confidence to respond to signs of misconduct and develop empathy towards the victim.
