Groove Jones created a virtual tour of the Givaudan Citrus Variety Collection at the University of California Riverside to create something special for their customers. Thanks to the newly designed Virtual TasteTrek Citrus program, customers can now experience the smell of over 1.000 varieties of citrus through VR.
Combining sight, sound and smell, Givaudan has launched a multi-sensorial virtual reality tool for citrus applications. The Virtual TasteTrek® Citrus program enables customers to learn the citrus market landscape and co-create their own flavours. They can even experience the smell of the 1.000 varieties of citrus without having to travel to the origin of the citrus and simply enjoy it within the Virtual TasteTrek Citrus program.
With the Virtual TasteTrek Citrus tool, Givaudan is able to develop products much faster than before. The tool allows them to listen to customers changing tastes and follow developing trends, which allows them to stay fresh. They can also create new flavours and the app will provide all the information about the ingredients for the new flavours. This proves once more that virtual reality is becoming an increasingly important aspect of product promotion and commercialization.
