Ford uses TikTok ads in order to promote their new truck: Ford Maverick. An augmented reality model of the new truck was created and made available for TikTok users.
Ford enables users to shrink, expand and rotate an AR version of the Ford Maverick. Ford wanted to advertise their new truck to an audience who were not normally considering buying a truck. TikTok, with its young audience, was the perfect platform.
The 3D model of the Ford pickup truck went viral on the platform. The Ford Maverick TikTok AR campaign gathered over 10.6 billion views. Also, over 17.000 video creations with the augmented reality model of the truck were made within the first month.
