DHL wants to optimize the loading process of parcels to reduce CO2 emissions, but also to prevent wasting money and usage of space. One of the ways they are doing this is through virtual reality training.
During the training employees will learn how to organize parcels as efficiently as possible, if unused space remains, the application marks this so that the employee can see where he is leaving space. The training has a time limit and a leaderboard with the times of other employees on it, this ensures that the staff remains stimulated to train and improve.
The VR training helped 99% of the employees with improving their performances and reducing their work pressure. Thanks to the training, DHL uses less cars to send more parcels. This ensures a reduction in CO2 and ultimately lower costs.
