Healthcare authorities in Friesland, the Netherlands, are working together to develop VR training courses to better prepare healthcare workers for the second wave of Covid.
During the training employees learn about hygiene measures, shielding yourself from the outside world and treatment methods, but also dealing with family. Participants learn to recognize symptoms and then have to take the correct actions on which they receive feedback.
Employees say that the realism and the fact that you have to “perform under pressure” are the main benefits of the training. About 120 employees have now completed the training and there is interest from other parts of the country for this VR onboarding.
