Callaway Golf reached out to Groove Jones to work with them to develop an in-store AR campaign. The AR experience includes the two main MAVRIK line of clubs – Drivers and Irons. The MAVRIK line is made with A.I. and Machine learning and visualised with AR, making it an easy to use AR experience for customers.
Customers scan a QR-Code or use AR.CallawayGolf.com to activate the AR experience. Users will be able to rotate, flip and take photos of the 3D viewed MAVRIK Driver. An animation demonstrates the driver with 4 connected hotspots that can be triggered by tapping on them. r them. Due to WebAR technology, no app was required to use the experience which made it more accessible and user friendly.
The campaign was launched in 1,200 US stores nationwide within just a few months and got coverage on marketing blogs as well via golf outlets. Golf fans were impressed with the precision of the in-store AR campaign and found it very useful for making a purchase decision.
