Airbus | Engine VR Training
There are many rules regarding training in the aviation industry. This makes it effective but very expensive and time consuming. Therefore Airbus developed a VR training together with Air France Industries and KLM Engineering to improve engine maintenance.
The VR training is developed according to the in-service aircraft maintenance procedures and operational scenarios. The virtual engine maintenance training is used for the Airbus A320. During the training, the trainee must try to solve a realistic scenario such as replacing a part in the engine. With the help of virtual reality, the trainee can lift, move and replace parts.
The result is that the VR simulation is an alternative solution to the usual expensive and difficult to access training courses. The training provides more insight to the theory lessons in an innovative way.
