Adobe launching tools for the Metaverse

During the Adobe Summit-Digital Experience conference in 2022, Adobe announced the release of new 3D and Augmented Reality tools, including Substance 3D modeler and Behavior Builders for brands and consumers.

Democratizing the Metaverse

The AR/VR tools are part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud and Experience Cloud production suites. This integration will not only assist the company in adding digital experiences to its existing tools but will also help brands in creating the Metaverse world for their target audience.

Commenting on the launch of the new tools, Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s Chief Executive, said, “Increasingly, we’re using the digital world to do things that we once only did in the physical world. The ongoing conversation on the Metaverse reflects the fact that the distinction between what people do in the physical and virtual world is blurring.”

Substance 3D modeler

According to VentureBeat, Adobe demoed the modeler, which allows users to sculpt 3D objects with an interface that combines natural, fluid gestures in virtual reality and the precision of a desktop interface.

Stefano Corazza, who currently heads Adobe’s Augmented Reality effort said that “brands that build up a rich library of 3D assets will also have an advantage in the metaverse.”

Behavior Builder

On the AR side of things, as per XRtoday, Adobe is planning to launch a Behavior Builder tool, an Artificial Intelligence feature for its Adobe Aero suite, that allows users with no creative skills to create enriching AR experiences.

Further, Adobe announced its partnership with Coca-Cola, NASCAR, Epic Games, and NVIDIA, and also announced a ‘Metaverse Playbook’ for brands who want to create immersive experiences for their consumers.
